The Art
of Storytelling, Shaped by Place, Memory, and Longing

Welcome to House of Blue Lotus — a creative studio where memory breathes, stories bloom, and heritage finds voice.

Rooted in the soil of India and shaped by cities across the world, this is a space for those who remember, imagine, and resist forgetting.

We craft stories at the intersection of literature, history, culture, and migration — through podcasts, essays, zines, and slow art. From Montréal to Mumbai, from silence to speech, House of Blue Lotus is where fragments become narrative, and memory becomes meaning.

Vision & Philosophy

Preserving Memory. Living Culture. Celebrating Heritage.

At House of Blue Lotus, we believe storytelling is a sacred act — not just of narration, but of return. Our work honours what’s been carried, buried, and broken along the way. It’s a form of cultural continuity through creative resistance.

Whether it’s tracing recipes across borders or books across centuries, we create from a place of tenderness, ferocity, and truth. Here, rivers are metaphors. Cities are mirrors. The past is alive.

Studio & Storyteller

House of Blue Lotus was born of longing — for language unspoken, for lands left behind, for a lineage interrupted. Its name carries both myth and memory: the blue lotus, a symbol of resilience and quiet wisdom, blooming through the mud.

This studio is a home for stories that meander like rivers — tracing migration, memory, ritual, and rootlessness. From podcasting to poetic nonfiction, every piece is stitched with care, cultural nuance, and emotional truth.

Founded by Puja Roy — a Montréal-based writer shaped by many cities and seasons — House of Blue Lotus is both a creative offering and a personal act of remembering. It is where fragments find form, and silence turns to song.
